Seven and Eight
I realised, as I sit here at my desk at work, that I like screens. On my desk in front of me, I have two 24-inch monitors, a 16-inch laptop, an 11-inch digital photo frame, a 10-inch tablet, and two 4-inch phones. A total of 7 screens. Home is even more crowded, with additional 24 and 15-inch monitors. And it’s odd, because I use them all. They each have a purpose, and I would struggle to maintain my workflow without them. At work, I use one of the monitors for the browser, and the other for the IDE. The laptop runs my windows testing environment – IE, SQLYog etc. One phone is for SMS and calls, the other is used as a facebook messenger and mobile testbed. The photo frame cycles through pictures of my family. The tablet is used for testing the responsive themes we work with. At home it’s much the same, with the third big monitor holding my design applications, Illustrator or Photoshop, and the smaller one running my music player and log monitor.
